Is our favorite actor leaving the hit television series Two and a Half Men? ” ”
Rumor has it that Charlie Sheen may leave the show soon. At the recent Emmys, he reportedly told Extra that he is in the final year of his current contract and it could be the end of the show for him. If he does quit, Charlie looks forward to a life outside of show business, spending time with his wife and his children. His last words were “maybe it’s up to CBS and Warner Bros.”
Two and a Half Men first aired on CBS in September of 2003. It soon garnered much critical acclaim, and has since become the number one comedy show in the U.S. It was nominated for 30 primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes. The show also won the Favorite TV Comedy award at the 35th People’s Choice Awards. According to TV Guide, our man Charlie makes a whopping $875,000 per episode, making him TV’s highest paid primetime star!
If you have not been following Charlie’s hit TV show, it’s a dramatic comedy about men and women, dating, divorce, terrible mothers, sibling relationships, and of course, sex and love. Charlie may play a rich, hedonistic bachelor, but nevertheless, we love his character. His free-wheeling life is interrupted by his uptight brother and his son, Jake, who move in with him. Enter Evelyn, their narcissistic and toxic mother who decides to spend more time with her boys. Despite his complicated new life, they all make a nice family that brings a lot of laughs to viewers everywhere.
If Charlie does go, we will miss him and those shirts he made famous. But then again, he is pretty well-set, and he’s free to decide whether he stays or goes. With his successful career and new family, he can pretty much relax and focus on family time. We can only wish him well.
