Two and a Half Men has been one of television’s most popular sitcoms since its very first show in 2003. The situational comedy features Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones. Charlie Harper (Charlie Sheen) is a 40-ish, aging playboy bachelor with a very successful career writing commercial jingles. His lifestyle becomes very cramped when his brother Alan (Jon Cryer) gets divorced and is forced to move in with him, bringing his 10 year old son Jake (Angus T Jones) with him. Alan is a lot more uptight than Charlie is, and also more than a little jealous of his lifestyle. There’s a stalker ex-girlfriend, a nosy housekeeper, and a self-centered mother, which makes for some funny, yet risque comedy. If you’re easily offended you should stay away, but if you like fearless comedy you should come on in and laugh awhile.
One other reason why Two and a Half Men is so popular is because that Charlie Sheen’s role as Charlie Harper is seen as skewering his own foibles and reputation. Charlie Sheen has long had the distinction of being one of Hollywood’s bad boys, having done several stints in rehab and numerous times in court (both divorce and criminal). He’s a famous client of Hollywood Madam Heidi Fleiss, reportedly spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on her girls and services. He’s no stranger to domestic violence, or drug use. Just recently, in fact, after an altercation with his wife, he was formally charged with felony menacing, and third-degree assault and criminal mischief, both misdemeanors. He plead guilty to misdemeanor assault as part of a plea bargain where the other charges against him were dismissed.
And believe it or not, he is more popular than ever. The show is ”America’s Number-One Comedy,” according to CBS, and he just signed an agreement to return to the sitcom for another two years for a reported $1.78 million per episode. During the Winter Olympics, Two and a Half Men went up against them as a repeat, and still drew more than 10 million viewers. That’s very impressive, and it means that the show has some serious fans. It obviously does, with those kinds of numbers or a re-run.
And you know those two-toned retro-style bowling shirts that Charlie Sheen wears on Two and a Half Men? They’re some of the most popular menswear in stores today. Charlie Sheen shirts are flying off the shelves, and it is all due to the popularity of the show.
The show has its detractors, who say it is too crude and too cliched, but other fans don’t seem to mind, and CBS is sure to keep the same winning formula for its number one show. Two and a Half Men will be back next season, just the same as it was before.
It’s official! Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps has already started production. Just recently, Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf were spotted at the Central Park zoo. No, not checking out the chimps and zebras, but filming on set of the much anticipated sequel to Wall Street. The original starred Charlie Sheen as Bud Fox, a budding stockbroker who was more than willing to get out of his moral boundaries just to make it big in the stock trading arena. Ever since the arrival of Two and a Half Men, there has been an explosion throughout the Internet about the fashion picks of Charlie Harper, the protagonist of the show played by Charlie Sheen. The casual, laid-back dress sense of Harper as seen on the sitcom has caught fire, and is hitting it big with companies all clamoring for a piece of the action.

The Two And A Half Men star co-produced the line with the brand Rock & Roll Religion. His line is “reminiscent of the rockabilly culture born in 1950’S California.”
The New York Daily News reports that Charlie’s line focuses on short-sleeved, button-up shirts with agoya shell buttons, retro patterns and contrasting color combinations. Charlie says he loves the feel and look of the DaVinci pieces. The retro designs indeed exude a sense of cool, smooth, yet effortless style. Just like his comfortable camp shirts in his hit TV show, Charlie’s line screams “I’m stylish, laid-back and cool but don’t take myself too seriously.”
We say every guy should have at least one DaVinci in his closet.
And why not? We think the wearer would be proud to don a shirt designed by a Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Spanish-American actor. According to TV Guide, Sheen is TV’s highest paid actor, taking home an estimated $825,000 an episode for his CBS hit television show. Oh, did we mention that he’s generous too? He reportedly left a $100 tip for a beauty salon staffer because he was delighted with the $50 pedicure he received.
True to his laidback style, he reportedly got married in a cheap suit from a discount store while his 3rd bride wore Reem Acra. Nevertheless, his gorgeous new wife Brooke Mueller must be proud.
