The Growing Popularity of Charlie’s Swanky Shirts

Charlie-Sheen-two-and-a-half-men-7224168-1024-768Ever since the arrival of Two and a Half Men, there has been an explosion throughout the Internet about the fashion picks of Charlie Harper, the protagonist of the show played by Charlie Sheen. The casual, laid-back dress sense of Harper as seen on the sitcom has caught fire, and is hitting it big with companies all clamoring for a piece of the action.

The show features Sheen dressed in a lot of simple, two-toned shirts that hark back to the ’50s and ’60s bowling-alley pop culture era. What began as an innocuous choice of shirts for a few episodes has since been something of a signature feature of the show. Sheen has continued to appear on the show with the same kind of relaxed yet dressy shirt selections. This has fueled speculation that it has been a part of why the show has continued to improve on TV ratings – it regularly broke into the top 10 on TV ratings for the 9 PM Monday timeslot, particularly for the sixth season that ended May 2009.

Today, the demand for those shirts has hit new highs. Firms from in and around the country have come out to parlay the show’s new popularity into a new effort to reach out to eager shoppers. These shirts are fit for almost any body type, be it skinny, lean, muscular or even beer-bellied. They also carry themselves well and with a very strong and confident manner, without being overtly loud, overbearing or obnoxious.

Of course, there are few that can compare to Charlie’s original line, The DaVinci Collection by Charlie Sheen. Designed with Sheen and his character’s personal style at its core, these shirts feature exactly that easy-going warmth that emanates from Charlie, both on and off the camera and the TV studio set. These swanky shirts can most likely make any guy look undeniably appealing in an instant.

Charlie goes Fashion Forward with New Shirt Line

He may have been expelled from the school for poor grades and bad attendance just before graduation, but Charlie Sheen sure knows the value of style and substance. Our man Charlie exudes a marketable look, plus his acting career had exploded quickly. And need we say that he always seems to end up with a beautiful woman?

Joining the celebrity clothing line bandwagon, Charlie recently launched his signature line of casual shirts called the ‘DaVinci Collection by Charlie Sheen‘. The Two And A Half Men star co-produced the line with the brand Rock & Roll Religion. His line is “reminiscent of the rockabilly culture born in 1950’S California.”

The New York Daily News reports that Charlie’s line focuses on short-sleeved, button-up shirts with agoya shell buttons, retro patterns and contrasting color combinations. Charlie says he loves the feel and look of the DaVinci pieces. The retro designs indeed exude a sense of cool, smooth, yet effortless style. Just like his comfortable camp shirts in his hit TV show, Charlie’s line screams “I’m stylish, laid-back and cool but don’t take myself too seriously.”

We say every guy should have at least one DaVinci in his closet.

And why not? We think the wearer would be proud to don a shirt designed by a Golden Globe Award-winning and Emmy-nominated Spanish-American actor. According to TV Guide, Sheen is TV’s highest paid actor, taking home an estimated $825,000 an episode for his CBS hit television show. Oh, did we mention that he’s generous too? He reportedly left a $100 tip for a beauty salon staffer because he was delighted with the $50 pedicure he received.

True to his laidback style, he reportedly got married in a cheap suit from a discount store while his 3rd bride wore Reem Acra. Nevertheless, his gorgeous new wife Brooke Mueller must be proud.

So are we.
